Jasper County VINE Coverage
Mississippi's program is the Office of Mississippi SAVIN / VINE Services. It tracks people reported by MDOC and participating county jails. Participation is a key limit. Statewide availability does not prove that every municipal booking, county event, spelling variation, or historical record will appear. A missing result should be checked with the Jasper County Sheriff's Office when the question concerns the county jail.
VINE is built for a specific-person status check and notifications. A released label or alert means the source agency changed its electronic custody file. It does not certify a permanent discharge, settle the related court case, or prove that the person entered the community. A Jasper County event marked “Transferred to DOC” closes county custody while state custody begins.

Search Jasper County VINE Records

The interface connects a matched custody record to registration, but the underlying agency record still controls the event.
Register Jasper County VINE Alerts
Registration starts on the matched person and agency record. Mississippi permits anonymous registration. The offered channels can include phone, text, email, or app notice. Follow the current screen because confirmation steps may differ by channel. The four-digit PIN applies to automated telephone registration and acknowledgment; do not assume that email or text uses that same PIN.
- Open the correct agency record for the named person.
- Select “Register,” “Get Notifications,” or the equivalent live control.
- Choose an offered delivery method and enter the phone number, email, or app destination.
- Complete the verification shown on screen and save the registration.
- For automated calls, create the requested four-digit PIN. Enter it when a call arrives to acknowledge the notice and stop repeat calls.
- Keep the agency name and offender ID so staff can find the registration if a notice seems wrong.

Keep Jasper Transfer Alerts Active
Mississippi's Registration Link can carry a VINE registration from county custody into MDOC or other custody when available. This feature has a direct Jasper County use. The sheriff's official release feed can label an event “Transferred to DOC,” which means the jail episode ended but the person did not return to the community.
Do not close the inquiry at that county event. Follow the Registration Link in the live notice or record, preserve the county arrest number, and search MDOC by name or ID. Compare the MDOC county of conviction, physical description, photograph, sentence, and location. Intake may not appear at once, so confirm the receiving agency with the jail when needed.

Confirm Jasper Release Custody
Every alert belongs to one custody system. A Jasper County jail release should be checked against the sheriff's official 48-hour release card or jail docket. An MDOC change should be checked in the state inmate or parolee record. A court docket may explain bond, sentence, dismissal, revocation, or another case action, but it may not state the exact physical exit time.
VINE does not replace federal sources. A sentenced federal person is checked through the Bureau of Prisons locator. Federal pretrial custody often requires the court or U.S. Marshals Service channel. Immigration detention is checked through ICE. A county release followed by another agency's intake creates two valid events, so state which agency's custody ended.

Jasper VINE Record Limits
VINE is a notification service, not a certified permanent archive. Data can lag, participating agencies can differ, and multiple events can generate several notices. A person may be released from one source and received by another within minutes. The agency name is therefore as important as the status word.
If the notice conflicts with the sheriff feed, note the event date, agency, offender ID, and exact text. Call MS SAVIN, then obtain the sheriff booking and release entry or the MDOC record. If a tentative date is shown elsewhere, do not treat it as a release alert. Only an actual custody change reported by the source supports that conclusion.
Notifications can include release, transfer or temporary movement, escape, alleged absconding from supervision, return to custody, and other changes. Those labels are not synonyms. Escape is an unauthorized absence, transfer is a custodian change, and release ends the named agency's custody. An absconder label alleges a failure to remain available to supervision but is not a new conviction. Reading the exact event prevents a status notice from becoming a claim the source did not make.
Keep contact details current after registration. If telephone calls repeat, use the four-digit PIN to acknowledge the event. Email does not use that phone PIN. Text and app users should follow the confirmation method shown by the current interface. Saving the offender ID and agency name gives MS SAVIN enough context to locate the registration when delivery fails or a message is hard to interpret.
Note: A VINE alert is strong notice of a reported event, but the source agency keeps the durable custody record.
When Jasper VINE Records Conflict
A VINE release alert and a blank Jasper sheriff release page can both occur without either source being false. The sheriff's public release view lasts 48 hours and updates once each day. A VINE event may be older than that short web window, may reach the public on a different schedule, or may describe movement to another custodian. Start by recording the agency named in the alert, because a county, MDOC, and other custody event are not interchangeable.
Call MS SAVIN when the automated notice needs confirmation. For a Jasper jail event, give the sheriff the person's full name, arrest number or booking identifier, and the alert date, then request the matching jail-docket or release entry. If the event says transfer, ask for the receiving agency if that information is public and continue the search there. When court action must be reconciled, use the Jasper County Circuit Clerk. For an MDOC event, compare the inmate detail and parolee search, then request the actual release or discharge record if the public fields remain unclear.
A passed tentative release date creates a different conflict. It is a forecast, not a VINE release event. An active prison location can mean the computation changed. A parolee record may mean prison custody ended but supervision continues. Preserve each exact label rather than merging them into one date.
